Top 15: Worst Cites for Traffic Congestion in 2018

Traffic congestion has continued to increase globally with nearly 75% of the cities, a new survey by the annual Dutch navigation Technology Company TomTom showed.

The survey covered traffic congestion in 403 cities across 56 countries, where traffic index reported increase or stable congestion levels between 2017 and 2018.

Last year, Mumbai city in India was the worst city on the planet for traffic chaos, as drivers can spend an average of 65 percent extra travel time stuck in streets.

The second on the list was Bogota, Colombia's Capital, in which the congestion ranking is 63 percent, while Lima in Peru came third with 57 percent.

New Delhi city took the fourth place, as drivers struggle with 58 percent congestion, whilst the Russian capital, Moscow, led Europe in traffic jams in which can drivers take 56% additional travel time.

Outside the top 10 cities that are visualized on the following infographic, Los Angeles has the worst congestion levels in the United States according to TomTom at 41%, followed by New York (36%) and San Francisco (34%).
