Chinese students most enrolled in US higher education

Enrolling in American higher education is one of the most important types of education that gives students great freedom to use reason and design projects, as well as the opportunity to innovate.

In first place, China comes in with 369,548 students, according to the report, maintaining first place for the tenth year in a row, up 1.7 percent from the previous year, despite trade tensions between China and the United States.


In second and third place, India and South Korea appeared with 202,014 and 52,250 students respectively.

From Asia also, Saudi Arabia came in the fourth spot, despite a 16.5 percent drop from a year ago, bringing the total number of students enrolled to 37,080.

With 15,229 students enrolled, down 1.5 percent from 2018, Mexico emerged in the last place of the top list.

According to a report published in 2019 on international educational exchange by the Foundation for International Education, the enrollment rate for American higher education increased by 0.05 percent from 2018 to 1,095,299 students in 2019.

Continuing to surpass the 1 million student barrier for the fourth year in a row, where the contribution to the U.S. economy from students enrolled in U.S. education totaled $44.7 billion.
