A new survey by YouGov Institute published by newspaper Bild showed that nearly half Germans want to reinstate the Deutschemark and ditch the euro.

The survey found that 49 percent were in favor of the mark as they described as one of the most stable and strong currencies in the world. On the other hand, 41 percent wanted the euro.

A majority of 60 percent would vote against the inception of the euro if it was introduced today, versus 30 who would choose it to be the country’s official currency.
